Latvijas Banka has started publishing payment statistics in its internet statistical database INTS. The first published data refer to the first half of 2022.
Payment statistics is compiled using statistical data submitted pursuant to Latvijas Banka's Regulation No 195 "Regulation for Compiling the Payment Statistics Reports on Customer Payments" of 11 June 2021, data submitted by Treasury, and data of Latvijas Banka. Taking into account the fact that in Latvia payment services are also provided by payment services providers which are registered in other countries and do not report statistical data to Latvijas Banka, payment statistics which is compiled and published by Latvijas Banka does not cover all payments executed in Latvia and all terminals used for cash withdrawals (ATMs).
The historical series of payment statistics, which are currently available on Latvijas Banka's website in the section "Statistics/Data", will also be published in Latvijas Banka's internet statistical database INTS. The historical series have been compiled using statistical data collected in accordance with Latvijas Banka's Regulation No 131 "Regulation for Compiling "Credit Institution and Electronic Money Institution Payment Statistics Report"" of 13 March 2014.
