Andris RuselisAndris Ruselis

Andris Ruselis was born 30 November 1957 in Riga.

He obtained his secondary education at Riga Secondary School No. 36, and in 1981 graduated from the University of Latvia Finances and Trade Faculty.

After graduation from the University of Latvia and until 1987, Mr. Ruselis worked for the Industry Crediting Department of the Latvian SSR Branch of the State Bank of the USSR.

1990 to 1991 Mr. Ruselis was a member of the Council of the Bank of Latvia.

1989 to 1998, Mr. Ruselis  was Chairman of the Executive Board of the joint stock company "Latvijas Zemes banka", and from 1998 till 2002  served as Vice President of the joint-stock insurance companies "Balta" and "Latva".

On 14 February 2002, the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia approved Mr. Andris Ruselis as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Latvia. On 7 February 2008, the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia appointed Andris Ruselis Deputy Governor of the Bank of Latvia for a second term of six years.
