ESMA public statement on end of MiCA transitional period

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) calls on unauthorised crypto-asset service providers to wind down orderly, while also safeguarding clients' interests, as the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) transitional period ends.

ESMA has issued a statement to clarify expectations for how unauthorised crypto-asset service providers must wind down activities while also protecting investors after the end of the transitional period under MiCA on 1 July 2026.
