On 3 March, the Supervision Committee of Latvijas Banka issued an electronic money institution operating licence to MONELIQ EUROPE SIA.
The licence empowers the holder to issue electronic money, make payments, issue a payment instrument, and accept payments, as well as to provide a payment initiation service and an account information service.
Ten licensed and one registered electronic money institutions, as well as four licensed payment institutions currently operate in Latvia.
