Communications and Financial Literacy Department

Tasks

• builds the relationship between Latvijas Banka and the public,
• promotes the financial literacy and economic literacy of the public,
• coordinates the collaboration on communication matters between Latvijas Banka and the European Central Bank and other Eurosystem members as well as
• ensures the informative activity of Latvijas Banka in the form of publishing,
• provides editing, translation and terminology services

Structure of the department

Publications and Events Division

• plans and performs the informative activity of Latvijas Banka in the form of publishing,
• ensures the compliance of the submitted Latvijas Banka's legal acts and other draft documents to the norms of the Latvian literary language, established use of terminology and layout, 
• ensures the translation of texts necessary for Latvijas Banka and interpreting in the events organised by Latvijas Banka

Financial Literacy Division

• Coordinates the development and introduction of the National Strategy for Financial Literacy in Latvia
• Promotes the financial literacy and economic literacy of the public
• Promotes understanding with regard to the operation of Latvijas Banka and Latvia's economic and financial developments
