On the Bank of Latvia work during the NATO summit

During the NATO Summit, November 27, 28, and 29, 2006 which have been declared holidays, the Bank of Latvia will carry out its usual functions necessary for the operation of the financial system, namely:
• monetary operations and currency transactions,
• interbank [cashless] payments,
• cash pay-ins/pay-outs at the Bank of Latvia Branches.

The Cabinet of Ministers has declared November 28 and 29, 2006 holidays. In order not to lose working hours, the Cabinet of Ministers has moved the government business day of Monday, November 27 to Saturday, December 2. This is just a recommendation for the Bank of Latvia and commercial banks. According to the information of the Association of Latvian Commercial Banks, commercial banks plan to work on November 27, 28 and 29.
