Public institutional units engaged in production of goods or provision of services intended for individual or collective consumption free of charge or at economically insignificant prices, primarily financed from the compulsory payments (taxes and duties) imposed on economic agents, as well as institutional units engaged in redistribution of national income or wealth. General government in the Republic of Latvia includes central government, local government and social security funds. The list of the institutional units is compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia in accordance with the requirements of the European System of Accounts.
