Construction of the Riga Branch building completed
The new building of Latvijas Banka's Riga Branch was completed on 16 November 2001.
Its vault is spacious and meets the needs and security standards of a modern central bank. The building is significant from the architectural point of view and opens new opportunities for further development on the left bank of the Daugava River. Its outline elegantly complements the ancient bank of the Daugava River.
The building was granted the "Annual Latvian Architecture Award 2001" for the best work in the category "New Public Buildings". It was also awarded the first prize for the best new building at the annual competition "The Best Building of 2001" organised by the Latvian Association of Construction Contractors.
