Following the changes in the epidemiological situation and the relevant regulations in Latvia, the procedure for providing services at the Cashier's Office of Latvijas Banka at K. Valdemāra iela 1B is in force as of 1 April 2022:

A prior appointment for receiving services is no more required.

The following services are provided on site (in compliance with the epidemiological requirements):

  • exchange of lats banknotes and coins to euro banknotes and coins (at the official conversion rate, free of charge);
  • replacement of damaged euro and lats banknotes and coins (if they fulfil the replacement conditions);
  • authentication of suspicious banknotes and coins;
  • exchange of euro banknotes and coins for other denominations (including piggy banks, their exchange conditions);
  • picking up collector coins and other numismatic products purchased on the website as well as 2 euro commemorative coin rolls (the time for their pickup will be announced at the time the purchases are made);
  • cash transactions by credit institutions.

Important! When visiting the Cashier's Office of Latvijas Banka, it should be noted that:

  • persons subjected to home quarantine or isolation or having symptoms of respiratory infections are not allowed on the premises;
  • visitors may feel free to wear or not wear a face mask (its wearing is not an obligation);
  • it is advised to keep a distance of 2 metres;
  • the maximum number of customers allowed on the premises at any one time may be limited (by the security officer).

The following services are provided remotely only:

  • selling collector coins and other numismatic products, access to euro commemorative coins of special design ensured via the website e-monetas and with delivery by courier or pick-up on site at the Cashier's Office of Latvijas Banka at K. Valdemāra iela 1B;
  • provision of Credit Register data. In cases when a customer is unable to receive the relevant data remotely electronically ( or to the official e-address) or as a direct mail delivery (e.g. non-residents who are identified in the Credit Register on the basis of documents issued by the country of residence rather than by the identity number, as well as persons having powers of attorney in the form of a paper document), he/she may receive the Credit Register data in person by prior appointment (phone: 67022497).

Customers are encouraged to use the remote services provided by Latvijas Banka as much as possible.
