According to the "Copyright Law", the Bank of Latvia holds the copyright to the lats banknotes. Any reproduction of banknotes is prohibited, except where the Bank of Latvia, the European Central Bank, the central bank or country having issued those banknotes has provided a written permission or the requirements of the Bank of Latvia, European Central Bank or the relevant country for the reproduction of banknotes have been met.

Regulation for Reproducing the Lats Banknotes and Coins

The Bank of Latvia owns the copyright to the appearance of Latvian banknotes and coins and recommends that they be reproduced fairly and correctly.
