The issuer of Latvian Government securities is the Ministry of Finance. According to Regulations No. 387 "Regulations on Issuing Government Securities" approved by cabinet of Ministers in May 31, 2005, the Treasury of the Republic of Latvia performs all transactions with Latvian Government securities. Latvian Government securities are sold in the auctions of primary placement of securities organised by the Treasury at Riga Stock Exchange electronic trading system SAXESS.
