Conference "Latvia Beyond the Crisis: Towards Sustainable Economic Growth"
On 20 October 2010, the Bank of Latvia hosts its annual conference Latvia Beyond the Crisis: Towards Sustainable Economic Growth.
At the previous conference hosted by the Bank of Latvia, the focus was on the renewal of a stable macroeconomic environment and promotion of exports in the wake of a substantial downturn of the economy. Now a year later, the recession has been overcome and exports have returned to pre-crisis levels. The fragile recovery and stability notwithstanding, it is the periods of crisis that new foundations for sustainable growth are to be laid to trigger a rise in population's income and to minimise the exposure to a new "bubble".
